Editorial Policy

This page describes how Odds Ledger produces its coverage. It is short because the rules are short.

How we assess

We audit bet types, markets, and betting products; we do not tip winners. Every assessment is built from material anyone can check: bookmakers’ published terms and prices, the Gambling Commission’s publications, company announcements, and plain arithmetic shown on the page. Figures are attributed accordingly (“published terms”, “per the regulator”, “as of this writing”) and worked examples are labelled as illustrations of a mechanism, never as measurements we did not make. We do not invent statistics, quotes, or results, and we do not present a bookmaker’s numbers as our own.

Outcomes and variance

We never promise an outcome. Words that imply a bet cannot lose are banned from our copy, and every piece that comes near a betting decision states what variance can do to it. A positive assessment of a bet type’s pricing is not a prediction of profit — it is an audit of terms. We publish no income claims and no “betting as earning” framing, ever.

What scores mean

Scores are out of 10 and rate a product as a value-and-transparency proposition: how its price compares to fair, how legible its terms are, and how honestly it is marketed. A high score is not a recommendation to bet more, and no score is for sale. As a practical guide: below 5 means the maths runs against you and the product obscures it; 5–7 means usable with discipline and real caveats; 8 and above means legible, competitively priced, and honestly sold — and still lists its cons, because every product has them.

Disclosure

Odds Ledger is commercially supported and may earn affiliate commissions or advertising revenue from links. Any paid or affiliate content carries a disclosure notice at the top of the post, and paid links are marked rel="sponsored". Sponsors get clearly labelled space; they do not get editorial control, and they do not get scores. We do not attach bookmaker sign-up buttons or bonus codes to our reviews.

Bylines

Odds Ledger publishes under house bylines maintained by its editorial team (Economist-style). Reviews run under the editor’s byline, Callum Price; news runs under “Staff, Odds Ledger.” We do not fabricate journalist biographies or credentials.

Corrections

We correct errors of fact quickly and visibly. If you spot one — a place fraction, a threshold, a date — use the contact page and flag it as a correction. We aim to act on corrections within 24–48 hours.

Responsible coverage

This site covers an 18+ subject and frames it for Great Britain’s licensed market. Every page carries a responsible-gambling line in the footer, and every post carries one in its own words. Support and free advice are available from GambleAware at begambleaware.org.
